Over the past couple of months, we’ve shipped a mix of major milestones and thoughtful improvements all designed to help you build smoother video experiences, troubleshoot more easily, and get even more out of Whereby

From our native iOS SDK officially launching out of beta to enhanced session insights and stronger authentication options, here’s everything new on Whereby.

Our native iOS SDK is out of beta

You can now fully embed Whereby’s video experience directly into native iOS apps with our iOS SDK. This release also includes several UX enhancements, such as recording indicators, participant and viewer counts, the ability to delete chat messages, a meeting timer, and more.

OIDC authentication

We recently launched OIDC (Open ID Connect) as a new authentication method for S3 storage. This is a more secure way to send cloud recordings and session transcriptions from Whereby Embedded to your AWS S3 buckets.

The OIDC method is an alternative to our existing access-key authentication mode, and it’s a great choice if you want stronger security without storing any long-lived access keys. See how it works.

Enhanced session insights

We’ve recently upgraded session insights for Whereby Embedded, making it easier to understand what happened during a call at a glance.

The enhanced session insights bring deeper visibility into multiple participant activity, connection quality, device details, and more, making it easier for teams to quickly spot patterns and improve the user experience. See what’s new

New camera effects

We revamped our camera background effects to provide more calm, professional backgrounds during a Whereby session. See what’s different
