Say Hello to Enhanced Session Insights
We just upgraded our post-session analytics on Whereby Embedded to show more performance and quality data.
Our enhanced session insights come with an improved view, making it easier to understand what happened in a call, diagnose issues faster, and continuously improve the user experience.
Whatโs new on the insights page?
Session insights are designed to help you understand what happened during a meeting across all participants. Previously, it focused on individual participants in isolation, with separate event logs and timelines for each person.
The new and enhanced session insights bring those timelines together, so you can easily scan across multiple participants and see how network conditions, devices, connection events, and activity data lined up throughout the session.
This makes it easier to spot patterns and understand any issues with context.
We enhanced the in-depth session insights UI to help product, engineering, and support teams answer key questions about why a session succeeded or failed. (e.g was it due to their connectivity or was it due to their device?)
To see what it looks like, visit Insights > Rooms, then select the room and exact session ID you want to review.
The exact metrics will be available to view 1-2 minutes after a session ends.
How can I switch to the enhanced session insights?
Enhanced session insights are available to all users on Whereby Embedded, including users on the free plan.
You donโt have to do anything else to access the new view, as itโs automatically available on your dashboard.
To learn more about using the insights dashboard, read our documentation.
Is it HIPAA compliant?
There were no new changes made to the privacy features on Insights. However, if you do want to make sure your session insights are HIPAA compliant, visit your Dashboard> Configure> Features> Privacy Features
Turn on the toggle that removes personal participant information on the insights UI, API, and webhooks. You NEED to turn this toggle on for it to be HIPAA compliant.
Whereby offers a standard Business Associate Agreement (BAA) designed to meet the needs of HIPAA-compliant organizations, and weโre happy to sign a BAA for paid customers on our Embedded plans. To learn more about this, please contact our Sales team.
We hope your product, technical, and support teams find these new insights helpful when investigating or improving user experience.

Have a great week
