New Pricing Tiers for Session Transcriptions and Live Captions

Earlier in the year, we released AI-powered session transcriptions and live captions in public Beta.

Since then, we’ve been working hard to make improvements to the service based on the feedback we’ve received from our customers. This includes making the feature more affordable and accessible where we can.

We’re delighted to let you know that from August 29th, 2025, session transcriptions and live captions generated in the English language will have a lower price.

The price will depend on your Embedded plan type.

• Build plan: $0.0065 per unmuted participant minute.

• Enterprise (annual plans): $0.0055 per unmuted participant minute.

At this time, all other languages will continue to cost $0.024 per unmuted participant minute. We hope to reduce the price of more languages in the future.

Note: When using both session transcriptions and live captions in the same session, you’ll only be charged once per unmuted participant minute.

How do I access the new pricing?

If your organization or room language is set to English, you don’t need to do anything else. The new pricing will automatically be applied from August 29th, 2025. If you are on an Enterprise annual plan, please contact your Customer Success Manager to access further reduced pricing.

How do I set the transcription language?

The default language can be set for either an entire organization in your Whereby Embedded dashboard or per room when creating a meeting room via the API. To do this, please see our developer documentation for full instructions.

Please note that room-level language selection will override organization-level settings. This could result in higher charges if a language other than English is set for individual rooms.
