At present, you can embed Whereby rooms in your web application using an iframe or using the <whereby-embed> element, which is part of the Whereby Embedded Browser SDK

We are excited to announce that we have released a brand new alpha version of our Browser SDK that extends it with React-specific functionality, allowing for full UX customization.

The alpha version allows developers to build completely custom video conferencing experiences without needing to know anything about the underlying mechanics of video conferencing.

Want to build a quick prototype featuring floating videos? You can do that with this alpha!

We want to stress that even though you now have greater control over the end-user experience, you still don’t have to worry about the complexities of handling media streams — we take care of that under the hood. And of course, all your calls are powered by Whereby’s battle-tested SFU mesh, ensuring a smooth connection and good-quality audio and video.

To get started with the Whereby Embedded Browser SDK alpha, you can install it from npm or inspect the development branch of our GitHub repository. You can also check out an example app on CodeSandbox.

We look forward to seeing what you build with it. You can join our Discord community and ask questions, get feedback, and share what you’re building. We are always happy to hear from you!

Please remember that this is an alpha, so not everything will be perfect just yet. But with your help, we’ll be able to make it even better! Let us know on Discord
